Art in the Park: Free Outdoor Creative Workshops

Join Elephant Artist Relief Society (EAR) this summer for Art in the Park—a series of free, artist-led workshops designed to inspire creativity, build community, and make the arts accessible to everyone.

Held in the beautiful setting of Sien Lok Park in downtown Calgary (Riverfront Ave and 1st Street SW), these welcoming outdoor workshops invite participants of all ages and experience levels to explore a variety of artistic disciplines alongside professional local artists. Whether you’re interested in visual art, songwriting, poetry, movement, or simply looking to try something new, Art in the Park offers a relaxed and supportive environment where creativity can flourish.

Each workshop is led by a dedicated artist who shares their unique skills, creative process, and passion for their art form through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and discussion. Participants will have the opportunity to learn new techniques, express themselves creatively, connect with fellow community members, and leave with new ideas, inspiration, and, in many cases, a creation of their own.

No previous artistic experience is necessary, and all materials are provided unless otherwise noted. Registration is encouraged to help us prepare materials, but drop-ins are welcome as space permits.

Bring a friend, bring your family, or come on your own—we invite you to discover something new, connect with your community, and experience the joy of creating in the park.

Admission is free. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
