Volunteer with EAR
Elephant Artist Relief Society (EAR) is fueled by people like you.
Predominantly volunteer run, our hands-on Board of Directors, and our working Committees are comprised of your neighbours, local entrepreneurs, and cultural workers living in the Calgary region. This reflection of EAR’s membership ensures we’re a living, breathing part of our rich social fabric. In these ways we can envelop related concerns, embrace relevant aspirations, and set appropriate as well as timely goals.
Courses, workshops, panel discussions, and social events also offer rewarding opportunities to get involved and support EAR’s mission.
Just one more way you can join the EAR herd of creative professionals, arts presenters, and supportive patrons!
Join our Board of Directors
Position: Secretary
If you enjoy being organized and have a knack for details, this executive position is made for you. The Secretary ensures formal business can happen in an informed and effective manner. This is a chance to learn the usual protocols pertaining to the deliberation and archival processes of a charitable organization. You will work closely with the other executive members and directors as a decision making collaborator and help EAR chart its way forward into the future.
Position: Director
EAR’s committed volunteers on this working Board of Directors come together to fulfill the Society’s mandate, raise awareness and funds, and develop both short and long term goals. Our Directors are part of the reason this nonprofit serves the regional community so well! Whatever experience and skills you’re bringing with you, there’s also numerous opportunities to learn and grow, and a good hearted team to help each other along. There are currently three Director’s positions available!
EAR has a working board where everyone contributes to the operation of the Society. Board positions require 4-5 hours a week commitment.

Call for Committee Members
The Fund Development Committee is seeking committee members to collaborate on the development and execution of fundraising strategies. Bring your great ideas, any past event coordination or campaign experience, and / or a big desire to learn. EAR’s mandate, to serve the urgent needs of artists experiencing unforeseen crises, is one hundred percent dependent upon donor giving. Building and sustaining gracious community relationships is what this committee does. Join us in injecting some active care into our cultural sector while developing both valuable and transferable skills.
The Marketing Committee is also seeking members! This is a chance to utilize your publicity super powers for good. Or, if the art of public communications is an interest you want to pursue, learning as a member of this committee is a perfect match.
